DIVINE HERESY: South American Tour Cancelled
August 13, 2008DIVINE HERESY, the Southern California-based band led by former FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares, has cancelled its previously announced South American tour because "the promoter fucked up getting the necessary work visas and flights," according to a statement posted on the group's MySpace page. The band continues, "DIVINE HERESY would like to send our sincerest apologies to all of our South American fans. Please do not let this reflect negatively on the band and as soon as we find a new promoter we will come back down there and tear it up!"
DIVINE HERESY last month tapped 28-year-old singer Travis Neal (PUSHED, THE BEREAVED) to handle the vocal duties for all upcoming shows.
The band recently completed a North American trek with fill-in vocalist Jake Veredika (former lead singer of the Maryland-based metal act PERIPHERY) following the departure of Tommy Cummings.
Travis Neal in January joined the Swedish melodic death/thrash metal band THE BEREAVED as the group's new frontman. He has since recorded the vocal tracks for THE BEREAVED's new album, "Daylight Deception", which is due later in the year via Vic Records. Three songs from the CD are available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
DIVINE HERESY's debut album, "Bleed the Fifth", has sold more than 20,000 copies in the United States since its August 2007 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was released in Japan with an exclusive bonus track, "Purity Defiled".
